Single Image mode

To browse your photos one at a time, double click a photo. You can click the arrows on screen or use your left and right cursor keys to move backward or forward through your photos.

Full-screen mode

To view your photos in full-screen mode, make sure you are in the 'Photos' view (not 'Tagger'), and choose 'Full Screen' from the View menu. The controls at the bottom of your screen allow you to move backward or forward through your photos, start a slide show, save a copy of the displayed photo, or exit full-screen mode.

To start a slideshow, clicking the large play button. The gears icon below the play button allow you to change slideshow settings, such as what type of transition to use between photos. Clicking the disk icon on the left allows you to save a copy of the current photo to another location on your hard drive. And clicking on the 'X' on the right exits full-screen mode.

Finding tagged photos

To view photos containing a certain person or tag, drag the tag from the Tagging Pane on the right to the Search Bar along the top of your screen. You can drag several tags to the Search Bar to display all photos containing at least one of the selected tags.

Search form fun!

You can set the search form above the Tagging Pane to filter photos as well as tags. Click the magnifying glass, and select "All" or "Photos." Now, the photos that are shown are filtered as you type to show only photos that match your search.

Finding photos containing multiple people

To view photos containing a combination of tags, double click the tags to send them to the Search Bar (or drag them there). Then, click the "Toggle" button on the right end of the Search Bar. This toggles the Visual Search to show, for example, photos containing John or Lisa, versus John and Lisa.

Rotating photos

To rotate photos in the 'Photos' view, click the photo (or Command-click multiple photos), then click the 'Rotate' icon. You can also rotate photos in the zoomed, single image view. The rotate icon rotates photos clockwise, 90 degrees at a time.

Keyboard shortcut

After selecting the photo, hit Shift-Command-R to rotate it counter-clockwise, or Command-R to rotate it clockwise. Learn more about Keyboard Shortcuts.

Deleting photos

Don't want a photo in iLovePhotos? Delete them. Click on the photo in the "Photos" view and hit the delete key. You can also right- or Control-click the photo and select "Move to Trash" in the contextual menu. If you delete a photo by mistake, you can select "Undo" from the Edit menu, or hit Command-Z.

Your photos are safe!

The original photos will remain untouched, however you manage them, whether in iPhoto or on your hard drive.
