Adding your photos to iLovePhotos is easy. And the photos you import will not be copied, moved, or harmed.
If you choose to connect iLovePhotos to iPhoto, iLovePhotos will import all the photos in your iPhoto library. It will also keep up to date with your iPhoto library via one-way sync: when you add new photos to iPhoto, they will be imported the next time you run iLovePhotos. Photos you remove from iPhoto will similarly be removed from iLovePhotos. However, iLovePhotos will never make changes to your iPhoto library.
If you choose to import photos manually, you will be prompted to select folders or photos on your hard drive. You can select more than one folder on your hard drive by holding down the Command key (a.k.a. the Apple or "four-leaf clover" key) while clicking on the folders in the dialog box. You can add additional folders and photos at any time by choosing "Import to Library..." in the File menu (or hitting Shift-Command-I).
Again, iLovePhotos will not move or change your existing photo organization system... but it will quickly become your favorite way to enjoy them. Deleting or modifying a photo in iLovePhotos will not affect the original image, whether stored in iPhoto or elsewhere on your hard drive.
